All Hallows Eve!

I can't believe it is already the last day of October! Here are some of the fun things we have been doing...

Carlie and Tristan came over a couple weekends ago and we spent the night decorating sPoOkY hAlLoWeEn cookies!

Can I just say that frosting and I are not friends. I think I made 3 batches of either too runny, too hard, or too crumbly (yes frosting can be crumbly) frosting before I ended up with something usable and edible.

You are positively never too old to enjoy PuMpKiN cArViNg!

Jason is going to be such a good dad one day... He carved a kitty pumpkin especially for Olive and he even scooped all the pumpkin GuTs out of my pumpkin for me!

the results...And, although they disappointed us a little in The World Series, Jason managed to carve a pumpkin for The Rays! Pretty creative I must say!
We managed to figure out a way to get Olive to dress up for Halloween! Truly this is just a hat off of one Jason's baseball figurines that she plays with and we were lucky enough to get her to wear it long enough for some pictures.

Last, but certainly not least my cousin Kyle came home from his mission in Brazil. We were able to go to the airport with some other family. There were about 6-8 missionaries from his mission that flew home on the same flight. It was such a powerful experience to see all of them in their suits and backpacks reuniting with their families. I have never felt the spirit at an airport before that day. We didn't get the greatest pictures.
Thanks for serving Elder Clark! We love you and are glad you are home!

My new sweet baby - Lil Merrill!

What do you think about my little new baby Lil Merrill?
MakeMeBabies.com - What will your baby look like?
Once again I am bored at work and have been looking at other people's blogs. I found this on some and decided it would take up a little bit of time. This one was the best looking of the three babies I made. They all have jacked up teeth! Blue eyes, and no eyebrows. If anything creating these babies has been good birth control. I hope our kids are cuter than this thing predicts. I just don't know if I can love an ugly baby! HaHa! Totally kidding!

OcToBeR!!

So... I feel like our lives are fairly ordinary and there is nothing particularly interesting to blog about, so I haven't blogged for a while. But I just realized that we have now entered into my FAVORITE month of the year and that is worth blogging about! I love October! I think it is the best month for many reasons...

1. The weather is perfect! Its cold enought to start wearing fall clothes yet warm enough to still enjoy being outside.

2. October is the home of

which I love more and more every year! I love all of the eerie, dark Halloween decorations (hence the somewhat eerie blog background, you can't see it that well though). I love all of the cute kids costumes in the stores and all of the fun Halloween treats. I think I almost like Halloween as much as I like Christmas! Last year during Halloween time I found a little boutique in Gardner's Village that sold Halloween decorations to go on your Christmas tree, like strings of candy corns to wrap around the tree and skeleton ornaments. I think Jason is nervous that I am actually going to decorate our Christmas tree in Halloween decorations this year. I want to really bad but I think I will save that for another year!

3. I have a strange tradition that I started on one Halloween night when I was in High School. I was grounded ( I don't remember why because I really was the perfect child) and so I decided that every Halloween night I would start listening to Christmas music and continue to listen to Christmas music until Christmas was over. I am sure most, if not all, of the people who read this are now disgusted with me, but I love Christmas music! The people who sit around my desk at work hate me, one guy even threatened to erase all of my itunes library (including Josh Groban!) So there is just one more reason for me to love the last day of October! It's the beginning of another wonderful time of the year.

4. It's hunting season- those of you who know me are probably very confused as to why I enjoy hunting season, let me explain... I am not an advocate for killing innocent animals but my boss is an avid hunter! He loves being on the mountain. My boss is also a very high-stress, loud, busy, and sometimes overwhelming person to be around. HOWEVER, during the month of October, he is a completely different person because he spends most of his time up on the mountain searching for the perfect elk to kill. Sad for the elk. Happy for Nicole.

5. It is the month of MLB playoffswhich I could really live without and until this year I had no idea when the MLB playoffs were, but it makes Jason really happy to watch all of the games. You should see his face light up when he talks to me about the games. I really try and listen and appreciate his passion for the game. So far the Angels have lost one game to the Red Sox, but they play again tonight and we are keeping our fingers crossed. And the Dodgers slaughtered the Cubs last night (which makes me sad because apparently the Cubs haven't gone to the playoffs in a really long time and they finally made it this year so I want them to do well.) That is my problem with sports is I get my heart all involved and feel bad for the people who don't make it because they have worked so hard!

Anyway, those are the reasons October is such a great month! I promised Jason I wouldn't put our Halloween decorations until October, I broke that promise by about 5 days. I just love my black feathered wreath too much! And I am still trying to figure out how I am going to get my cat into a costume. I think I'll try a devil costume... it will fit her personality well. I hope everyone enjoys October! It always goes by so quickly!

P.S... After I posted this and left work I thought of a couple of more reasons why October rocks!

6. I love watching the leaves change colors on the trees on the mountains, especially the ones you see driving through Sardine Canyon to Logan. It is such a beautiful transformation and reminds me of how grateful I am for the beautiful world that Heavenly Father created. And how much He must love us to create this fascinating world for us to live in.

7. It's general conference time. It only happens twice a year and it is such a treat to hear from the leaders of our church. Plus, it's pretty awesome to watch church in my jammies! If we could do that every Sunday I would totally sign up!
