Valentines/ Birthday Weekend Extravaganza!!!!

I'm not exaggerating at all... it really was quite the extravaganza! To start off the weekend my valentines present from J was a quick little getaway to Salt Lake. We went down Friday night and stayed in a hotel and went to dinner and a movie.

The next day was one to go down in history! I have to admit I don't think I am a shopaholic, but I do enjoy shopping, and it does give me somewhat of a high, and my shopping habits have drastically changed since buying a house, getting married, all of that nonsense. So saturday we spent about 7-8 hours just shopping! At first I was a little hesitant and didn't know how well it would go over (I felt like I was dragging Jason along, and I was nervous I wouldn't find anything I liked- which really puts me in a bad mood) but we hit the jackpot at the first store we went to and after that it was smooth sailing! We ended up finding alot of great deals too, which really gives me a high cuz then I don't feel bad for buying things. Jason was such a trooper, he tried to find clothes he thought I would like- bless his heart, and sat outside dressing rooms all day.

Then the real treat came when we went to IKEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have been nervous to go in that store, for fear that I would want everything, so this was both of our first times in IKEA! We were IKEA virgins you could say... and we totally put out to easily! After eating at the IKEA cafe and walking the store probably 4 times (I had shin splints)we ended up leaving with a chaise lounge that didn't fit in our car. But it was well worth the trip back down on Monday to pick it up.

Doesn't that just look divine! If you come over, I will let you sit in it after you have washed your hands of course!

Needless to say it was my favorite birthday of all my 22 so far. It was so fun to be with Jason all weekend and spend some good quality time shopping. He kept reminding me throughout the weekend that not all of my birthdays will be like this. I am okay with that as long as one of these type of birthdays come around every 5-10 years. I'm so grateful for a husband who isn't afraid to spoil me sometimes! Thanks J for a great weekend! Love ya!

My Baby

...okay so he is not really my actual baby, but I kind of pretend sometimes that he is. I had to post this cute snapshot that I got of my baby. I'm pretty sure his smile was the real thing, not just gas. He is starting to look more and more like Bree which we are all pretty excited about.

Catch Up

So I am lame... I have not even attempted to update our blog since before Christmas! Time has just gone by too fast! So here is a brief update on our life in the last 6 weeks...

I am now an Aunt... not in the best of circumstances but we love him just the same. He is such a doll! P.J. was born on December 15th and I wish he was mine!

I just had to post this picture, it is so dang cute! Gavin giving Hailey kisses.

Christmas night Jason and I, Michelle, Chuck, and Kyle piled in the car to head to California. We didn't make it very far that night, due to HORRIBLE roads because of the HORRIBLE weather. We made a pit stop in Fillmore and then got up the next morning to make it to Huntington Beach, CA. We were welcomed by Grammy and Grandpa Jack, Eric and Kam (who had flown there that same day), Jenny and Brett (Jason's aunt and uncle) and their kids, Paul and Kim (Jason's other uncle and aunt) and their kids. We had a great time spending time with family and relaxing. For our Christmas present Grammy and Granpa Jack got us all tickets to see...

It was such an amazing experience! The Wizard of Oz is one of my all time favorite movies so I was super excited. That's really all I can say to describe it is AMAZING and surprisingly funny. I wasn't necessarily expecting it to be funny. It is also sort of thought provoking, it made me wonder which witch I would be more like. I hope that I am more like Elpheba (who is the green wicked witch of the west). She becomes the "wicked" witch of the west because she stood up for her beliefs and didn't let popular society determine her choices, it's a pretty good story!

This is on December 30th... and yes Jason is wearing shorts and we are both wearing flip flops! We went on a pic nic to the beach!

This is Heidi (Jason's cousin) chasing and screaming at the seagulls to scare the away. It was really entertaining. Jenny said that Heidi also screams at grocery store's automatic doors to get them to open. Jason tried it later that day and it really works!

Isaac and Jenny- Isaac fell down Grammy's stairs and broke his arm in 2 places a few days earlier.

We found Santa- resting on the beach after a hard year of work!

Looks like this kid found Santa too- now he's running back to tell his mom!

Then on to Santa Monica Pier, where we found a crazy mural, rode the Ferris Wheel, walked up and down the pier listening to music and watching people (one of my favorite past times), and I had my first try at Dippin Dots- they were good!

Here our some of our New Year's Eve festivities!

All I can say is vacations are good for the soul...

... and the marriage!

Since we got home we have just been busy working, schooling, and enjoying the time we have to spend together. February is a big month of birthdays in our family so I'm sure I will have alot more to post soon.
