Back to School... Back to School

I just had to post that right now (Monday August 24th at 11:33 pm) Jason is digging through a dumpster to find our garbage bag amongst all the other garbage bags taken out tonight, looking for a receipt from the Weber State bookstore for his math book that we have had the privilege of purchasing 3 times, so that we can take it back to the book store and feel a little less raped when we pay a fraction of the cost to rent it. Back to school... Back to school....

P.S. that was the longest run-on sentence I have ever used. Good thing I'm going back to school, eh?

Camping 2009

Breath taking, isn't it? This is where we went camping over the weekend. We went up Friday night, ate at Pizza Hut before we headed up to the campsite, and then met up with the Taylor's. They were so awesome to invite us up and cook all of our meals! Camping is a lot better with a full belly!

It was so stinkin cold when we were up there! Saturday was the worst- I pretty much stayed in the tent with 2 sweatshirts, 2 pairs of socks, a blanket, and then the sleeping bag on. I ventured out of the sleeping bag a few times to go on a four wheeler ride and to go fishing with J.

* Notice the 2 sweatshirts and the dark clouds... Luckily towards the end of the day they started to move away and let the sun come out for a bit. And I also have to be grateful that it didn't rain or snow! That would have just pushed me over the edge!
Sunday was markedly warmer and therefore more fun! We started our day with a walk around the lake. By the end of the walk I was able to take off one of my sweatshirts. I sort of look like a giant person with 2 sweatshirts on.
We found an abandoned old John Deer... pretty sweet. It was the first riding lawn mower ever.

My husband likes to pose for silly pictures and he seems to forget that they always end up on the blog! He makes me laugh.

Truthfully, I think deep down Jason likes to be the star of our blog!! Just kidding, he got really sick of me taking pictures of him because he says I never let him take pictures of me. What can I say- I am a camera hog. Get me my own camera!
Nate and his cute nephews! These little boys are all so adorable and fun! And good fishermen I might add.
Sorry there are so many pictures but there are so many beautiful things to take pictures of. It's nice to be in nature (for a little while) and realize how beautiful our world is.
One of the two fish that Jason caught. Fishing up in Bridger Lake is not exactly my style of fishing. First of all you use worms for bait and I am not going to worm my own hook, second of all it takes a lot of patience- which is a quality Heavenly Father decided I needed to earn in this life instead of just giving it to me. So I didn't catch anything. Plus I was too engrossed in my book "The Time Traveler's Wife". It was a hard book to get into at first, but after about 100 pages it's hard to put down!
That was our camping trip for 2009! Hopefully next year it will be a tad bit warmer!

small indulgences

Some might call it an addiction, some might call it an unnecessary purchase, but for me it is one of the small things in life that makes me happy. Buying a new purse is right up there with getting new sheets, and changing the calendar month to month. The best thing about getting new sheets is how crisp and soft they are the first time you slip into bed. The most wonderful thing about a new month on the calendar is flipping to the new picture after you have forgotten what it is. The most exhilarating part of buying a new purse is finding all of the pockets and zippers and special compartments for all of the things (i.e. phone, lip gloss, keys, wallet...) that are necessary to have with me at all times. And one of the other best things about this small indulgence is that I can share it with my sister. Today we found matching purses by Marc Ecko at Ross. I talked her into buying twinner purses as back to school presents for ourselves. They are awesome! She is awesome! I love them both!

P.S....(I acted like I knew who or what Marc Ecko is... I really don't. All I know is that he makes a dang fine purse!)
