But I've tried to ease myself into the adjustment.
Monday after work I sat at the pool for a while, just reading my book. Neglecting my post vacation disaster of a house and barking dog.
And last night, besides folding laundry and cooking a quick dinner we were pretty lazy.
I think it might take me a few more days of mild relaxation after work to get back to normal. Not to mention an entire Saturday I have planned to clean, unpack, and reorganize my life.
A few highlights in pictures:
The first 3 days were spent at R Ranch in the Sequoia National Park (i think). Definitely my kind of camping... showers, bunk beds, and a pool. All in the great outdoors!
{Us-paddle boating it on the lake}
{Heidi, Jason's cousin, found a great pillow}
A lot of relaxation took place.
{Preparing to mount our horses in matching attire}
Yes, we planned it!
{The Merrill Boys}
My horses name was Spot. He had a rockin' heart tattoo. He liked to eat... a lot. Therefore I had to carry a whip while riding. I asked if I could bring it home...
Then it was off to Huntington Beach to cool off in the pool.
And at the beach...
We took an evening to attend this fantastic musical. Definitely one of my very favorite! Too bad Jason was sick through almost the entire second act.
Jason and I made a trip to Long Beach to go to the Aquarium of the Pacific. I know sort of sounds like a nerdy thing to do, especially without kids... but I've been dieing to go each time we go to California. We finally made it and it was really fun!
We were able to touch a few of these...
And also a few of these!
We saw lots of these cute things.
And some not so cute things...
And of course, a trip to Cali wouldn't be complete without an Angels game. This game was especially good since they were playing the Dodgers. Our group had a good mix of Dodgers and Angels fans.
No, I'm not really a Dodgers fan. I just had to wear the cap.
Tip: Always carry ample amounts of cash, or at least a $20, when going to a game.
After sitting in LA traffic for almost 2 hours, we had finally made it to the point where we could see that they only accepted cash for parking. By this point in the trip my cash had almost diminished and we were down to $13 dollars and some change. Parking was $15. We quickly gathered up all the pennies we could find and figured we probably were only a dollar short, but the lady let us in anyways.
To round off the trip we helped celebrate Grammy and Grandpa Jack's 50th Anniversary. They through a great party with tons of family and friends.
Oh and did I mention the cake was good too!
The best part of coming home was picking Sawyer up from my Dad's house. He was pretty excited to see us for about the first 15 seconds. Then the excitement wore off. I'm pretty sure he forgot we even left him.
Now I'm off to Girls Camp for a night!

sounds like we were in cali at the same time! We just got back Sunday night, and I haven't touched the dishes, I did only the necessary laundry, and I haven't even put it away yet. Yup, still in vacation mode.
Yeah, being back from vacation is not fun. On and off during the ride home the kids tried to talk us in to moving to the grandparents' house.
I'm glad you liked the aquarium-we went a few times before we had kids. I think it is as good as the one in Monterrey everybody raves about.
I'm glad you had fun hanging out with our family-I think we're all pretty fun and that is why you fit in so well. The only thing missing from your pics is the one where J has cookies on his forehead!
