in our lives. Well it's hard to believe we are already a month into summer and almost a month away from school starting again! Here is what we have been up to lately.
1. Jason got the swine flu! (Which is really just influenza A, but I like telling people he had swine flu so I can see their reactions!) So he was down and out of work for about a week. Great way to start summer, eh? I however was never infected. No matter how hard I tried I never came down with it. I was jealous cuz I wanted to spend a week on the couch too, but no such luck!
2. The week after Jason had swine flu, I went to Girls Camp. We had 9 girls go so it was pretty low key and A LOT different than girls camp that I went to when there was at least 20 girls going. It was fun but half the time I forgot that I was the leader and supposed to be helping. I was just having fun with the girls.

This is the only picture I have of all the girls together. This was after we gave them their awards.

They spent the majority of their days floating down the river. I went down a few times one of the days but decided to sit it out the next day. It was fun but I'm still just not extremely comfortable in the water- I blame the wierd swim instructor I had when I was little who had white sunscreen all over his nose (as if it works better if you don't rub it in) and would throw us in by our swim suits every day- usually resulting in a major wedgy and water up the nose!
Our theme for Girls Camp was Daughter of a King. So we decided to act like princesses and do pedicures.
SKITS... such a crucial part of Girls Camp! I was happy to be the one watching instead of performing for a change.

All in all, Girls Camp was a blast despite the dirt and the rain and the whole camping part of it. I forgot how spiritual the last night of Girls Camp can be. It was great to feel that spirit, get to know the YW better, and remember that I am a daughter of a King.
3. Lagoon... I for one am not a super fan of Lagoon. We used to go every year when I was growing up and as I got older it got more and more lame to go to Lagoon with my family. BUT the day I got back from camp Jason and I decided to give Lagoon another try. Usually anything we do together is fun so I had a positive attitude and after being apart from each other for 3 days it didn't really matter what we were doing.
J decided he wanted to ride Cliffhanger first thing. I decided, after seeing how wet people were when they got off, to sit this one out. I am glad that I did!
My efforts to stay dry that day continued as a torrential downpour came right after we finished eating dinner. We ran to the nearest bowery and waited it out for probably a good 45 minutes. It was pretty entertaining to watch people running for cover. We met up with the Price's, most of their family and a few friends too.
This is on of the cutest girls in the world... Emory- showing off the prize her dad won her.
This is the only other ride that I didn't go on with Jason. I know my limitations and this one would have made me so sick!
So that has pretty much been our summer fun mixed in with lots of working, a little softball, and a lot of corn on the cob... Mmmmm!
